Sequoia reviews
Sequoia parc, Marennes, Charente Maritime, France
Wouldn't of normally thought about going on this type of holiday but our friends were unable to go so offered us the holiday. Didn't expect much from what little we read about the area and resort but we were both pleasantly surprised. The holiday home we stayed in was very modern with all the fancy extras such as air conditioning, outside terrace, patio heater and a generous area outside to park the hire car and sunbathe. The resort was imaculate and very well kept with a large swimming pool, relaxation complex, and plenty of sports to take part in. We entered a tennis tournament which was great fun. The Thomson reps suggested a Cognac tour which we decided to go on which involved a boat trip, museum tour and a wine tasting event. The tour was amazing and would recommend it to anyone, you can even get reduced tickets off the reps. Another must visit is a large zoo in La Palmyre which is only 20 minutes from Sequoia parc. We really enjoyed the holiday in it's entirety and would certainly return to a holiday resort like this again.
Visited this holiday parc for our 2 week main summer holiday. Totally disagree with the review on this site as we wasn't disrupted by any noise in the evenings. The facilities were fantastic with lots of sports and organised entertainment day and night for the kids. Staff friendly and showed us plenty of places to see outside the parc. Only negative we had was the directions to the parc were very poor, got lost twice and ended up arriving rather late.
We stayed here in August 2008. The pitch was an odd, but usable space. Pool complex was great. However, the site was pretty flat, which was good for cycling around, but bad in the evenings as the sound of the disco/entertainment travelled loudly all over the whole site and our pitch was well away from the entertainment area. When we spoke to the staff about it we were told that no-one else had complained when we knew others had - not good customer service .
so not good for families with younger children, probably better for ages 11/12+.
