Ljubljana resort reviews

The McCartney Family | July 2008

Stayed here in late July, booked with Suncamp and stayed in a 3 bed mobile home. This campsite isn't quite in the ‘heart of the city’ like the brochure said, as it took us 25 minutes to get in to the centre of Ljubljana on a bus, which isn't too far, but we thought it was going to be much closer than it was. The area itself (Jezica) is very green and pretty.

There was no grocery shop at the campsite, which was a bit of a pain as we generally prefer to cook our own food to keep costs down, so we ended up walking to the local grocery market to stock up on food (about a 20 minute walk). I'm not sure about other tour operators, but if you book with Suncamp you get a barbecue which we got plenty of use. Although there is a large restaurant on site if you don't want to cook for yourselves. We ate there once and they had a good selection of food on the menu, which was reasonably priced, the alcohol in the tavern was slightly expensive though. There were a few sports activities that you could do (the usual football, volleyball etc), but we spent most of our holiday in the Laguna (pool area), which seemed to keep our children entertained. I would recommend this campsite to families with children under 12, as older children may get bored here.

The Wood Family | September 2008

We (family of five) had a fantastic holiday at the ljubljana camping resort. It’s a relatively small park with good sized pitches. We choose this park as we had never been to Slovenia before and wanted to be close to it’s capital city. We flew there, so we didn’t have a car with us, but that wasn’t much of a problem as there were frequent buses in to the capital from the gates of the campsite, that started very early in the morning until late in the evening.

Food in the park restaurant was great and reasonable in price, and the kids loved the large pool complex, were you can get also massages and there is also a hairdressers/nail salon and a gym so the park catered for us adults too!
