Les Peneyrals reviews

The Hughes Family | April 2017

Lovely campsite kept immaculate with friendly staff. The caravan we hired was home from home with all the mod cons such as air con, double glazing, large decking area ect. Dordogne is gorgeous. All in all we had a wonderful holiday and the kids loved every minute.

The Cook Family | July 2016

Stayed at Les Peneyrals for two weeks in a Canvas 3 bedroom mobile home. On first perceptions of the park we thought we may get a little bored during the fortnight however we found lots of activities in the day to join in with and off park we was spoilt for choice with the amount of tourist attractions in the area. We visited the LesCeaux and Proumeysac caves, the Erigynac gardens and a few chateau’s and castles. We also visited Sarlat which was a really nice town (like the previous reviewer mentioned) and we hired canoes to test out the rivers of Dordogne, they were fairly calm compared to the Ardeche but still enjoyable in the picturesque surroundings.

The Marshall Family | July 2014

We really enjoyed our holiday at this campsite, we had a really private pitch, and the campsite was lovely and quiet. The restaurants were great and had a really varied menu. The pools and slides were fantastic. There so much to do in the local area and a trip down the Dordogne in a canoe is a must.

The Gore Family | June 2012

We’ve been coming to this site for many years now. We love it because it’s a small campsite, so it has a really friendly family feel about it. The owners are really friendly and welcoming and they are very proud of the site and work had to keep it well maintained. The restaurant is open all day and night and it has a good selection and it does takeaway. The shop is well stocked and sells a variety of items at reasonable prices. The kids clubs and activities on offer are varied and fun. The pools are nice (there is also an indoor pool, which is good if you not lucky with the weather). The campsite also has bike hire available for exploring the countryside. There was plenty to do in the local area and we can’t wait to go back and do the things we missed next year.

The Hart Family | May 2011

We visited Les Peneyrals in Dordogne for 9 days in June. We booked through Canvas holidays. The site is well run and has good facilities. The shower blocks were spotless and the swimming pools were kept clean with staff cleaning the filters most nights we were there. The pools were open till late evening, which was great for a dip when the sun wasn’t too hot. The food at the campsite was good, there was lots of selection however I would stay clear of the burgers as they wasn’t that great compared to the lasagne, pasta and pizzas. The pizzas in particular were really nice and they had a wide selection of toppings.

For day trips we would definitely recommend canoeing at St Eyzies, visiting the Proameysac caves and the beautiful Erignac gardens. Slightly further (around 30 minute drive) is the town of Sarlat, which other than Bergerac is the largest town we came across. It’s a really pretty town with plenty of shops and restaurants, so it’s well worth a visit.
So if your looking far a small site in the countryside, I would definitely recommend Les Peneyrals.

The Knight Family | September 2010

Our second time at Les Peneyrals, this time with Eurocamp. The couriers were friendly and the kids club reps handled the kids very well. We had a problem with the cooker one evening which typical as it was to be a big meal for friends we met across the way. All wasn’t lost as after calling at eurocamp reception, one the couriers brought a fresh gas bottle to our static caravan and hooked it up within half an hour. I was very relieved. Our last visit we booked through Alan Rogers and didn’t enjoy there lack of hospitality. We had a few problems with the caravan we booked, mainly due to the cleanliness and it being fairly old compared to the others on the campsite. They insisted it was one of the most modern models they have and it was thoroughly cleaned before we moved in. The curtains had mould on the linings, and the cooker was very hit and miss. This is not to have any bad press for the campsite though, as the family owners were outstanding and very friendly. We loved the campsite and have no quarrels about the facilities and activities, hence our return. We would definitely come back again as the kids love it and I particularly enjoy the country location.

The Evans Family | August 2010

We stayed here in the middle of August and had a fabulous time. The weather was glorious and the campsite was wonderful. Plenty to do and see on site and beyond. A great campsite that I would truly recommend, weather you want to relax in the counrtyside or get out and about. It’s perfect for all tastes.
