Le Vieux Port reviews

Le Vieux Port campsite, Messanges, Aquitaine, France

The Singleton Family | August 2016

We had a great time at Le Vieux Port with the kids loving it so much we are returning next year. The large pool was kept clean with noticable water test being taken on a daily basis. We felt safe to let our eldest swim with friends as there were plenty of lifeguards on hand who didn't hesitate to stop any unreasonable behaviour. The beach was walkable and was lovely and vast so the kids could enjoy digging and playing bat and ball without annoying others. The parks restaurant served very good food and the take away pizzas were particularly nice. We stocked up on healthier meals at the Super U across the road which was very resonably priced. The kids got on really well with the Thompson holiday helpers who recomended lots of locations to visit in the area and gave us reduced entrance vouchers which was a bonus. We hired bicycles on the park which let us visit surrounding sites including the market at Vieux Boucau which is well worth a visit and only 10 minutes on the bike. We also cycled to the Adrenalin adventure park which is a Go Ape style place with climing frames and nets for young and older children. It was only 15 minutes away and very well organised for a fun day out. The large caravan we stayed in was new and very clean. It had a large decking area for evening meals outside and plenty of pitch space for the kids to play even with the car parked up front. My only negatives about the holiday was that we found the park difficult to find (getting lost twice) and the pine needles from the trees would hurt when we wore flip flops around the accommodation. Apart from that we can't wait to return and would reccommend the park to any fun hunting family.

The Pent Family | April 2012

Nice campsite which is close to a beach. Pitches were quite small (we stayed in a keycamp mobile home), and were very shaded (campsite is in a pine forest). Our sons had a great time here, especially in the keycamp fun kids club.

The Williams Family | July 2008

We (family of four - 32, 29, 4 & 2) stayed at the le vieux port campsite in July. Really pretty campsite in a pine forest, so lots of shade from the sun (which is perfect if you have little ones like us). There was a beach close by, but it wasn’t really suitable for little children, the campsite pool is much better as they could safely go for a paddle. Good sized shop at the park which was very handy. The restaurant had great food, although the bar was a little over priced. We had a fab holiday!.
