The Gough Family | August 2016

We have just returned from what my 6 year old daughter described as "The most fabulous holiday ever!"

Our three young girls (aged 5, 6 and 8) loved every moment and were spoilt for choice for things to do - their favorite was the amazing pool (very clean, with a huge splash pool for the non swimmers and three other pools for swimming and aquarobics). They also loved the fact that the sea was only a 30 second walk from the tent and that it was clean and warm enough to swim in.

The shop stocked everything that we could possibly need (including a 3 euro oil lamp, 3 euro local wines, kebabs, sausages, chicken and cold fresh salads for the evening BBQs). When you didn't want to BBQ there was a lovely restaurant and a fab takeaway - and only a short ride on the 'Little Train' to Argeles where there are lots of restaurants if you fancy a change of scene. It is only a half hour drive over the border to Spain - where we had a lovely meal at a Spanish all you can eat buffet! Delish!

The onsite bar put on shows every evening that were all suitable for young children and they made for a wonderful end to each day. Walking back from the club at night felt safe and secure due to good lighting and security staff on duty. The shower and toilet block were totally immaculate - everytime we walked through there was someone there cleaning the facilities - the cleanest we have ever seen!
We only arrived home two days ago and we have already booked our return trip for next year - and we cant wait...!

We’ve been coming to this campsite for a number of years now. The reason we keep going back is that the location is great (on the beach), staff are friendly, the sun is always shining and the campsite has a really relaxed atmosphere. The a la carte restaurant is fabulous, and the onsite shop has a good selection of food, and sells fresh croissants and baguettes every morning! The town centre is a short 5minute drive away, or if you fancy walking there it take just over half an hour. There are even some local wine caves. The perfect campsite for anyone!

The Jones Family | July 2014

We’ve just come back from La Soleil campsite in the Languedoc region. We had a really relaxing holiday with our two year old twins. We stayed in a keycamp villagrand mobile home, which was nice. The campsite was only about a third full whilst we were there, which meant that it was quiet, which was nice, but it meant that the bars had shorter opening hours than you would expect. The swimming pool was great for the twins as it had a large shallow area. The main restaurant was quite expensive, but the food was lovely. The takeaway and other restaurant were cheaper, but the food wasn’t great. The campsite is right on the beach, but unfortunately the sea was a bit too rough to let the twins splash their feet in. Overall a great campsite, and would definitely recommend it to families with small children like us.

The Fossey Family | June 2009

I've just read the previous review, and felt compelled to write my own review of my holiday at La Soleil, as my experience was completely different to the other reviewer. We stayed at this campsite at the end of June, and we had a great holiday. The campsite is a clean and friendly place. The beach is right next to the campsite, and the sea was even warm enough to swim in! The campsite also has swimming pools if you don’t fancy a dip in the sea. The campsite was nice and quiet, although this was probably because the school holidays hadn’t started yet. The campsite is a bit of a distance from the main resorts if you are walking, but are easily reached by car or bikes (which you can hire from the campsite). There is a bustrain (4.60 euros return) that go’s past the campsite and heads into town if you don’t fancy cycling or driving. There are two restaurants and a takeaway, which were reasonably priced for the quality of the food. The campsite shop was also well stocked.

We had an awful holiday at Le Soleil. The campsite is large, but the pitches are tiny and dirty. The campsite takeaway was disgusting. The evening entertainment goes on for ever, so there is a constant stream of loud teenagers making their way back to their tents at all hours of the night, which made it difficult when trying to get my young children to sleep. We will definitely not be coming back to this campsite again.
