Le Ranolien reviews
Le Ranolien Campsite address: Sémaphore de Ploumanac'h, 60 Boulevard du Sémaphore, 22700 Perros-Guirec, Brittany, France.
We stayed at Le Ranolien Yelloh Village campsite for a week in a Canvas choice mobile home (with thanks to Mr Tesco and his wonderful 'deals' vouchers).
This is the first holiday when we have had time together as a couple, the kids (7, 8 + 13) simply made friends the first day and was rarely seen after that! The girls tended to use the pools alot in the morning and spent most of the afternoon with the canvas childrens club reps. On the campsite there was a lot of entertainment for younger kids with bouncy castles, childrens play park and fun evening entertainment hosted most nights as well as a free cinema showing a mixture of films in english and french.
The mobile home we stayed in was modern and clean as well as in a plot with plenty of privacy. The weather was a bit mixed, but on the whole not bad and one day spent on the beach was really hot. We venured to one of those Go Ape forest climbing places, (about 20 minutes away) and I was completely terrified! However, the girls enjoyed it, there were courses with varying degrees of difficulty with some short and very long zip wires. For a full days event the price was reasonable at 15 euros each.
Overall the le Ranolien campsite has a pleasant laid-back family atmosphere with plenty of in and outdoor activities available, but be prepared for random weather - if you want guaranteed sunshine, better go further south!
Stayed in a 5 berth mobile home called the Delux with Canvas. Clean accommodation and a very clean site! Was impressed by the facilities available with the swimming pool and slides being our main attraction. The restaurant was good and the bar was affordably priced (although difficult to get a seat on the live entertainment evenings). Small supermarket allowed us to stock up on bits and pieces but most of our shop was done at the U-mart on the way to the site (both fairly priced). The beaches close by are fantastic with fabulous views! The Kids loved the mini golf and we all attempted the diving lessons, which was great fun! I even dabbled with some photography sessions that were available on the site and took some cracking shots of the local attractions if I say so myself.
Fantastic site, comes highly recommended!
Lots of activities, great location, even has planned workshops for photography, introduction to scuba diving and best of all the new spa complex is truly amazing! Never thought a campsite holiday would boast this much fun, adventures, sports and relaxation facilities. A truly magnificent site! Only negative from the holiday is that we only stayed 10 days, not long enough!
Went here early August with the family, 3, 6, 11 year olds and partner. We have been on many mobile home holidays in the last 10 years. This site ranks high with fantastic facilities in a excellent location, but then what do you expect as it is a Yelloh Village campsite! The weather wasn't great, which we expected, but the heated indoor pool and heated outdoor pool was a bonus. Both pool areas had lots of room and plenty of sunloungers. The creperie is a must with lots of selection and the bar snacks and drinks are fairly priced too, we are used to being ripped on previous campsites so this was a pleasant surprise. .My 6 and 11 year old loved the kids clubs but I recommend you book the activities you want when you arrive as they get rather popular and we missed out on a few. They also loved the 18 hole crazy golf and made lots of friends at the play ground and assault course area.
The location of this campsite is really something special, we have usually avoided Brittany due to the climate being cooler than the rest of France but this site is worth a visit, especially for the Coté de Granite Rose, fabulous coastline!
Only just got back from our trip to Brittany and le Ranolien site was the last site we visited on our 2 week holiday. Stayed 7 nights here and really enjoyed it. Was surprised by the standards and size of this holiday park as I envisaged it to be smaller due to it being a lot cheaper than our first park Chateau des Ormes. We booked through Eurocamp and had a great sized static caravan, however most of the caravans on the park looked just as modern and in good condition. Glad we didn't book direct as we wouldn't of had the option of the kids clubs in which our 4 and 7 years old’s never wanted to leave. Unlike the previous campsite, there wasn't as much to do on the park for the youngsters in the evening. The kids however grew attached to the club organisers and made a lot of friends from the clubs.
The site is situated along the coastline with some amazing beaches, the red rocks really take your breath away. All in all our holiday was great however the weather was very hit and miss so next time we will definitely try further South.
Agree with some comments here, the facilities at le Ranolien are great, the coastline views are stunning and the beaches are good too. However we took our own trailer tent and the pitches were very overgrown, not that big and very neglected. The static caravans seem to get the best plots and plenty of space, with the independent pitches loosing out. The communal showers had spurts of power and varying temperature but I can't fault them from being clean. Have a feeling they will soon turn this into a full static caravan site unless they realise the neglect to the travelling campers.
