Le Dauphin reviews
This campsite is a great base to explore the region from. The campsite itself is pretty quiet and there’s not too much to do, but it was great to come back to peace and quiet after a long day out. I would definitely recommend going to Argeles for the sandy beaches and restaurants as it’s only about a mile away, the pretty Chateau de Peyrepertuse is worth a visit too. The campsite is clean, and all of the tent pitches have there own shower, which is something we have never seen before, although we always stay in a mobile home, so if we come back to this campsite again we would definitely stay in a tent to save a bit of money! There are three swimming pools, two tennis courts, plus a few other sporting activities. The campsite runs it’s own children's club on weekdays, although they spoke to the children in French, so we only used it once.
Le Dauphin is a relatively quiet campsite, great for younger children, teenagers would probably get bored. Good swimming pools and close to the sandy beach. The takeaway has nice pizza, and there is also a restaurant and bar. The shop is well stocked, so it’s handy if you prefer to cook your own food. The closest town is not far, and it has a few restaurants and shops. The campsite has two tennis courts, but you are charged €10 an hour, which we thought was quite pricey. We had a great relaxed holiday, but if you are after a loud an action packed holiday, then this campsite isn’t for you.
