Le Conguel reviews

Le Conguel campsite, Quiberon, Brittany, France

The Williams Family | July 2016

Just returned from a two week holiday at Le Conguel Campsite with my two girls aged 8 and 13 and their dad. The weather was generally good with sunny spells most days, but frequently changeable near the end of the holiday with cloud cover. The campsite was mostly clean with bins emptied every day and the entertainment area kept clean apart from the video room was a bit grubby. The campsite had good basic facilities. The best aspect was the pools and large slide which the girls loved. The pool however isn't heated which wasn't a problem till the cloudy days. The on site bar was expensive (2.5 euro for a grande lemmonade and 4 euro for a pints of beer). The food in the restaurant fairly average with not much taste, I would suggest the takeaway as the better option as this was much nicer with a good menu selection. The beach is excellent and only a stride away from Le Conguel (practically oposite the site). The girls loved playing in the sand (which was clean) and exploring the rock pools. We stayed in a Thompson al fresco caravan which was fairly new and well looked after. The decked area was great for evening meals. There were two reps who where very friendly and could not do enough for us.

Overall the staff were extremely helpful and accommodation was excellent. Pool and beach was a winner but the let downs to the site was the high prices and evening entertainment was only 4 nights a week.

The Daniels Family | June 2010

Stayed here in the end of June with Mathews holidays. The caravan we were first put in was dirty and very old so we asked to be moved. By the second day we were moved to a slightly better caravan but still rather dated and rather thilthy. As for the campsite, it's location was very nice surround by the sea and close to a quaint town with a nice market. On site their was not much to do for our toddler, simply a small pool area and limited facilities so I wouldn't recommend the site to young families as we had to find most of the entertainment ourselves. Saying that we felt the campsite did cater better for the older kids and the beach was very clean and beautiful for evening strolls. Probably wouldn't return untill the littl'n is a fair few years older.

The Quay Family | August 2009

Booked Le Conguel through Canvas Holidays for a 10 night stay in August. The campsite is located at the end of a fairly small peninsula surrounded by the ocean and indeed a very picturesc view. Quiberon is about a 30 - 40 minute walk, but if your not much of a walker then cycles can be hired for 11 euro per day which is much quicker and easier. They also have large baskets if you decide to shop a little. The camspite is well looked after as well as the accommodation. The pitch we had overlooked a lovely sea view. Couldn't fault the staff as they where very welcoming and friendly. Pool was a good size with fun slides and games organised for the kids.
Overall my family enjoyed the holiday, especially the views!
