La Grande Metairie reviews
We decided to stay at three different sites on our last holiday to explore more of France. This site was the largest out of the three. We usually prefer smaller sites but this one did have plenty of facilities available which you don’t tend to get at a smaller park. The kids loved the little rams and pigs on the farm and especially enjoyed the pony treks.
The pool complex was very impressive with the largest pool being shallow enough for our 5 year old to have plenty of fun. My eldest son enjoyed the slides and indoor pool however it wasn’t always easy to get a sun lounger near the pool due to its popularity. My husband and eldest son was never off the zip wire and competing on the crazy golf.
The local town was lovely and heading not too far to the coast was some great beaches with the less touristy ones being closer to Lorient. We was all surprised how much fun Le Grande Metairie was, the only negative aspect was that it did get busy we did stay in high season.
Very well run campsite, staff very polite and extremely helpful. Tons of fun activities to take part in. Toilets are very clean and even had piped music! Pitches separated by hedges to give more privacy. Local shop provided essentials although the restaurant food wasn't that great. Really fun park with lots of sports and a great pool area. Comes highly recommended!
